Week 9 – From Collection to Brand Vision: Reflecting on My Entrepreneurial Journey
Analysing lessons learned and considering the collection's future potential as a brand. Figure 25: Final garments presented during a showroom display & packaging mock-ups. The final week of the module encouraged us to reflect on our learning journey and look at how it could shape our future work as entrepreneurs. Looking back at how I developed my fashion collection, I can see how the project became a practical example of experiential learning. I continuously tested, evaluate

Week 8 – Testing the Collection in the Real World: Feedback, Fit and Market Considerations
Evaluating audience responses, fabric choices and practical production challenges. PROCESS At this stage of the project, I organised a photoshoot and began sharing the collection publiclyto see how people would react to the designs. Seeing the garments fully finished in their final fabrics was extremely exciting, because it allowed the concept to move from sketches and prototypes to complete pieces. Week 7 – Failure, Risk, and Creative Breakthrough: Solving the Attachment Challenge
Reflecting on experimentation, setbacks, and the creative discovery of the cufflink solution. PROCESS After trying out different ways to attach the pieces, I kept testing several types of clasps to connect the garments. Many of the hardware options I ordered didn’t work as I hoped. Some looked too industrial, while others seemed fragile or didn’t fit the collection's style. Figure 17: Design exploration of attachment mechanisms intended to connect lingerie and outerwear piec

Week 6 – Innovation Through Experimentation: Technology and Custom Attachments in Design
Testing new materials and technologies to create distinctive attachment mechanisms. PROCESS This week involved experimenting with different types of attachment mechanisms for the garments. Because connection was central to the collection's concept, the fastening system became a key design element rather than just a functional detail. I initially explored the possibility of using custom 3D-printed clasps. My intention was to integrate include my logo on the clasp so the attach

Week 5 – The Concept of Connection: Defining the Purpose Behind the Collection
Exploring emotional, physical, and conceptual connections within lingerie and tailoring design. PROCESS At this point in the project, I began refining the main concept behind my collection. As I worked on sketches and technical drawings, I saw that connection was at the heart of the project. I designed the garments so that lingerie and outerwear could physically attach using modular fastening systems. Some bras connect in the middle, while others connect at each cup, so they

Week 4 – Designing with Responsibility: Ethics, Sustainability, and Connecting Garment Systems
Considering ethical fashion practices and how modular design may support garment longevity. This week’s session explored ethical issues in the fashion industry, especially the social and environmental impacts of garment production and the increasing importance of sustainability. The discussion really made me reflect on how fashion businesses must consider the consequences of their production practices rather than focusing solely on creative output. I also learned that concept

Week 3 – Understanding the Entrepreneur: Personality, Leadership and Creative Identity
Reflecting on personality traits and how they influence my role as a designer and future entrepreneur. This week’s session focused on the role of identity and personality in entrepreneurship. We heard from an industry professional about their entrepreneurial journey. Later, we completed personality assessments to better understand our individual traits and how to leverage them to benefit our businesses. The session encouraged me to reflect on how personal characteristics and

Week 2 – Recognising Opportunity: Developing a Lingerie Collection as a Potential Brand
Exploring strategy, niche markets, and translating creative ideas into entrepreneurial opportunities. The second week of the module focused on business strategy and its role in helping new ventures succeed. The session explored how entrepreneurs identify opportunities and create strategies that set their ideas apart from existing products in the market. This discussion made me reflect more critically about my own fashion collection and how it might grow into a brand. When I s

Week 1 – From Reflection to Creation: Introducing the Concept Behind My Lingerie Collection
Applying reflective practice to the early stages of concept development and moodboard exploration. In the first week of the module, we were introduced to reflective practice and the structure of our reflective log assignment. At first, I assumed reflection meant simply documenting weekly activities. However, the session showed me that reflection is actually about analysing experiences and using what you learn to improve in the future. According to Graham Gibbs, reflection inv
